Membership Appreciation Event 2023
MFOTL
The 2023 MFOTL Membership Appreciation evening was a grand success with a record-breaking attendance of 30 library supporters, plus board members and guests.
It's presumed they were also music lovers as the evening's entertainment was a stellar performance by a jazz quartet from Moorpark High School's instrumental music program. Under the direction of instructor Marco Lopez, four talented musicians provided 45 minutes of great soft jazz tunes, the perfect backdrop to an evening of relaxed visiting and enjoying delicious party fare. The young musicians were: Thomas Juarez on piano, Daniel Gaston on guitar, Huck Young on base, and David Walsh on drums.

Also featured was recent MHS grad Maya Godard who presented the library's new Musical Instrumental Lending Program, the culmination of her Girl Scout Gold Award project. Maya shared that the number of donated instruments to date has gone well beyond her expectations, as well as a successful online account (GoFundMe) for the purpose of instrument repair. The program will continue at the library under the direction of library staff.
