The Biggest Little Bookstore  in Moorpark

​The Moorpark Friends of the Library (MFOTL) sells donated books in good (if not great!) condition at heavily discounted prices. If you love reading, you won't want to miss these deals! 

If you are looking to give your gently-used books a new life and a new home, consider donating them to our bookstore!​

Our bookstore is located inside the Moorpark City Library. We accept donations at the library front desk. Read more below about what kinds of books we accept and other information about our bookstore.

   

  • You can donate anytime the library is open. 

  • Do not place donations in the book drop or leave them outside by the doors.

  • The limit is two boxes per day. 

Book Donations

We accept books in good condition or better, in many genres and formats, including: 

  • Fiction (romance, fantasy, science fiction, literature, etc.)

  • Non-fiction (history, science, biography, etc.)

  • Young Adult

  • Children's

  • Hardcover

  • Paperback

  • LARGE PRINT Books are welcome

Donations that are not acceptable:

  • Books that are ripped.

  • Books with pages that are chewed or torn.

  • Books that have scribbling or writing inside or on the cover.

  • Books with water damage. 

  • VHS and Cassette Tapes.

  • Encyclopedias or magazines.

  • Books that have stickers on the cover stating ADVANCED COPY, NOT FOR SALE.

Bookstore Prices

Adult Fiction Paperback - $1.00
Adult Fiction Hardback   - $2.00

Nonfiction books - $0.50 to $10.00 each

Children's and Teen/Young Adult Books - $0.50 to $1.00 generally, some specialty books may be priced higher.

Harlequin-type romance books - $0.50

Diana Fowler, Director: Oversees all bookstore operations, coordinates our volunteer team, and handles nonfiction and vintage books.

David Fowler: Handles the heavy lifting, packing, and shipping of books directly to our buyers.

Francine Dudenhoeffer: Handles children's books and all DVDs.

Scarlette Chavez: Sorts and replenishes donated books for the bookstore.

Lisa Fuquay: Oversees hardback and paperback fiction.

Marty Jurick: Manages specialty books on eBay, high school required reading books, as well as

general sorting and stocking.

Dana Trick: Handles teen/young adult books, sci-fi, graphic novels, and poetry.
